Remember when Mythbusters did the bird busting through the aircraft windows myth? They rigged up a compressed air cannon and shot both frozen and thawed chickens into the windscreen of an old Beechcraft Bonanza. This lightly constructed aircraft isn't rated for bird impacts and both frozen and thawed chickens easily broke though. They did mention that in the show by the way.
Then they declared the myth true but stated that there’s no difference between the damage cause by a frozen and thawed birds. Yea right! Those guys are too smart to believe that, it was a ploy, a ratings gimmick.
This is a no brainer here folks, what would you rather have land on your head from 30 feet up, a thawed chicken or a frozen one? What would you rather have thrown at you, a baseball sized lump of thawed ground beef or a frozen one? Of course they were bombarded with nasty E-mails, including one from me.
They went back and created a glass baffle similar to the wooden ones used to test bullet penetration. The results were the thawed chicken broke through 4 glass panels while the frozen one went through all 12. Is that any surprise to you?
By the way I think that the muzzle flash of a modern weapon will ignite a trail of gasoline quite easily. I wouldn't be willing to try and find out but during the Civil War plenty of fires were started by the muzzle flashes and sparks from the weapons of the period.
By the way don't get me wrong here I LOVE the show I just wanted to point out a couple of facts.
