Well its a little quiet around here so I'm wondering how many freeze fans have seen living mannequins in the flesh. I've only seen it once. It was about ten years ago in a little clothing store in a mall. There were four models and they were wearing different things all completely in red. They were right at floor level so I took a double take when I saw it. It was a small window so they were all fairly close together--no odd poses. Trying to remain calm I walked back and forth a few times. Then finally I went in to the store--it was all women's clothing. So I bought a dress for my wife (at the time) all the while checking out the display from the back. The salesgirl must have thought I was nuts. Maybe I was. Anyone else have a LM experience? Anyone ever been a LM?

They're neat.[/glow]

there are quite a few stores in areas that participate, however, soem of them only have kids who do not understand the concept of this and simply sit around and talk in the windows with their friends..

i love the living mannequin experience. my first time was when i was hired to do it in the window of a store in a mall. it was unreal to feel frozen, almost like a statue, and have people come up and look me up and down, studying me up close. i had the sensation of being a statue. after awhile, you almost believe you can't move at all. it feels like you may be frozen that way for good. it's amazing.

That sounds interesting. What were you wearing? Were you by yourself in the window? What other live mannequin experiences have you had? Have you ever done it inside the store where people could walk right up to you?

thought I would share another experience..
I had a student I taught in a class. she was small, 5'2" but thin and had a face that could definitely pass as a mannequin. she was excellent at posing her hands and fingers. What was most impressive was her stare. She could focus so well, that you thought she wasn't able to move.. so very locked in place and disciplined. When I noticed her eye was beginning to tear, I ran back and grabbed a tissue. I asked her if she wanted to take a break and wipe her eye, she said no by keeping her mouth closed (unh unh) came from her closed lips. I asked her if she wanted me to get the tears and she said (uh huh) with closed lips. This drew a larger shopping crowd around as they saw what I was doing. I simply placed the edge of the tissue in each corner of her eye, to let the tear adhere to the issue. It worked great as she never blinked. I walked away as the crowd began to applaud for her effort. Minutes later I approached her and asked if she was ready to take a break. She said uh huh as I simply lifted her body up and carried her to the back of the store.. The crowd applauded again as they appreciated her effort.

There use to be a group from Texas ,I believe, called Mannequins in Motion, they came around to the local malls a few times a year, usually Spring and Fall. Haven't seen or heard from them in quite awhile, but they were good. They mixed a fashion show with freeze modeling, the concept was that the group were mannequins and one person was the 'dresser' he'd set them up in their poses and leave the stage, that's when they'd go into motion and show off the clothes. When the 'dresser' came back on stage the group would all freeze again. It is a fond memory...wish they'd come back around again Until next time Freeze fans,

I saw a couple once...Two girls posing in a store window at the mall. It was quite a while back, though..I was 15 or 16. I had a dancer girlfriend who was in a college performance with a bunch of other girls. They all started out frozen. Hot....
